Package Testing Lab Technician-1
Description
Conducts a variety of distribution, environmental, and material testing for FedEx customer packages.
Essential Functions
- Conducts distribution testing, environmental testing, and material testing for customer packages
- Inspects customer packages and product for damage, leaks, and safety issues
- Prepares the package test record and provides general recommendations and feedback to the customer on the findings of the test
- Processes and ships packages for inbound and outbound shipping for both domestic and international shipments
- Repacks or improves shipments that are damaged that must be returned to a customer safely
- Supports proper disposal of packages and materials such as corrugated board as assigned
- Consults with customers to provide feedback on testing results for improvement opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience:
No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good analytical and communications skills. Must learn and adapt to new equipment and technologies being used for testing. Microsoft Office products knowledge a plus. Salesforce knowledge a plus. Prior testing knowledge and use of testing equipment a plus.
Job Conditions
Ability to lift 75 pounds and the ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
Valid driver's license is required since operating motorized conveyances is required of this job.
Preferred Qualifications: This position is onsite in Collierville; TN. Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
Pay Transparency: Internal Pay Grade H30
Pay: $21.63 to $28.68
