Description

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for the operating countries. This role ensures adherence to local laws, tax regulations, social security, and statutory requirements while delivering high-quality payroll services to employees and stakeholders.

1. Payroll Processing

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Middle East countries.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions, bonuses, incentives, and off-cycle payments.
  • Process payroll in compliance with local regulations, company policies, and payroll calendars.
  • Manage payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary revisions, and employee master data changes.

2. Statutory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with country-specific laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements.
  • Manage End of Service Benefits, gratuity calculations, and leave encashments.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports, WPS files, and regulatory filings within prescribed timelines.
  • Support audits (internal, external, statutory) by providing payroll data, reconciliations, and documentation.

3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and banks to ensure smooth payroll execution and issue resolution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees, HR, Finance, and external providers.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee lifecycle events and policy interpretations.

4. Reconciliations & Controls

  • Perform payroll reconciliations between payroll and HR systems, general ledger, and bank reports. Identify discrepancies, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities.

5. Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements, automation, and standardization.
  • Maintain payroll SOPs, controls, and process documentation.
  • Support payroll transitions, system implementations, and upgrades.

6. Employee Support

  • Address employee payroll queries professionally and within agreed SLAs.
  • Provide explanations on payslips, deductions, EOSB, and statutory components.

  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, Collaborative to work with team.
  • Should be capable in doing multitasking and quick in doing assigned activities.
  • Having an eye on details and able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Should be good in Microsoft Office. Especially in Excel, Word and Power-point.
  • Strong communication, fluent in English.
  • Hands-on experience with GCC payroll regulations, WPS, GOSI, EOSB, and gratuity calculations.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and third-party payroll vendors (e.g., ADP, SAP, Oracle, Workday).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
