Payroll-Timekeeping Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for timekeeping, administrative functions and the pre and post processing of FedEx Freight Canada Payroll
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review, analyze and verify payroll reports and documents for accuracy; make necessary adjustments or corrections as required through established procedures
• Ensure the accurate processing of regular payroll, incentive payouts, all interim checks, audit reports, data uploads, and year-end activities,
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including government bodies, Payroll Services and leadership to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and other related remittances
• Responsible for reconciliation functions throughout the year for items such as, vacation, benefit deductions and remittances
• Participate in annual audits that pertains to payroll functions
• Provide assistance with payroll related issues and questions from various areas within the organization
• Serve as point of contact for timekeeping application support
• Perform analysis to investigate variances from expected outcomes
• maintain in-depth understanding of payroll/timekeeping products and evaluate existing functionality as new versions are released
• Develop and recommend process and procedure enhancements; evaluate new processes/procedures and document overall impact results
• Work with various stakeholders; participate in the in implementation of applications of system upgrades and / or new timekeeping related modules; identify program problems and develop solutions
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other assignments (or duties) as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Minimum Post-secondary Degree required
• Three (3) years payroll/time-keeping related experience, required
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, preferred
• Experience with Timekeeping and HRIS systems, preferred
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred; required in Quebec
• Knowledge of accounting best practices, preferred
• Ability to work independently and as a team member and take initiative in fast paced work environment
• Ability to manage competing and changing priorities
• Strong time management, organizational, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills, including excellent attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint and Outlook)
• Professional verbal, reading and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization
• Ability/willingness to learn new applications, software, systems, and equipment as required
