GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision performs the following activities:
·Performs a basic  level of processing and obtaining customs clearance approval for import/export and transshipments of documents, packages, and merchandise in baggage or air freight
·Regularization of cargo unavailability processes with the Federal Revenue Service and consenting bodies, including physical inspection (express and formal shipment);
·Prepares necessary customs forms to enable import and export procedures to occur in a timely, efficient and effective manner for shipments arriving/departing via aircraft;
·Reception and checking of formal export cargo at the Cargo Terminal (ABV/TECA);
·Prepare cargo documentation for customs clearance;
·Issuance of control reports;
·Reception of cleared cargo by FedEx brokers (Puxe);
·Ensures station's full compliance with country's customs and tax laws and compliance with FedEx policies, procedures, practices and rules;
·Interfaces with customs officials and coordinates customs activities with internal operations officials;
·Customer contacts for customs clearance services; general notifications and controls;
·Keep all customs documentation well organized and properly filed;
·Performs in-station screening and retrieves airfreight from carriers as required;
May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education:
 High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Specific English for customs – basic level

Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in international freight/customs policies, procedures, rules and laws
