Post Summary Operations Agent -1st Shift
Description
To provide customers with the highest quality of service by providing consistent customer service and resolution of customer duty and tax disputes by filing claims with US Customs & Border Protection (CBP). This position is responsible for analyzing and ensuring timely handling of claims.
Assists customers when customs and other government agencies, such as the FDA, DOT, EPA, Dept. of State, U.S. FWS, become actively involved with an import shipment to ensure the issue is resolved timely, appropriately and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Loads database with entries, Logs and assigns incoming work into the Regulatory CRM and monitors ECO DTS and REGREQ for time sensitive disputes.
Analyzes entries related to disputed invoices to determine accuracy of the entry.
If necessary, composes and files appropriate claims or tenders and/or notifies clients of our determinations.
Resolves issues related to duty, tax, fees, valuation, and classification of imported merchandise in order to obtain applicable refunds for company and our customers.
Carefully reviews handling of disputed shipments involving CBP accounts receivable by performing billing in Duplex.
Maintains technical knowledge of customs and other government agencies regulations by reading, evaluation and researching information obtained from ABI administrative messages, the federal register, published articles and other sources.
Provides complete, accurate, and timely information to update product database records and to ensure compliance with customs rulings, notices of action, decisions and other entry instructions.
Provides support and assistance to other PSOT specialists and advisors as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED. Previous experience working with Duplex or other Brokerage System. Brokerage knowledge of entries. MS Office, Outlook, office equipment, (phone fax, photocopier, printer, scanner). Communication skills, verbal and written. Organizational, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills. Ability to handle time sensitive work and a high volume of work. Ability to work on a team. Paid training provided. Familiarity with US Customs regulations and other federal regulations and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: *This role is remote *Candidates that live in Tonawanda, NY and Romulus, MI are required. Monday - Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: Min= $ 15.00 - Max= $ 17.69
