Product Manager Lead
Description
Under limited supervision, this individual is responsible for: Leading development and execution of product/portfolio strategies and plans, taking into account product life cycle stage and the customer experience. Leading, development and implementation of marketing, sales and all other activities, as needed, to achieve the necessary business outcomes. Independently lead needed market, economic and competitive evaluations that affect product performance. Clearly demonstrated ability to perform fact-based data analysis and interpretation to identify critical business insights. Ability to lead completion of needed advanced data models and analytics. Identifying and prioritizing new features, including market analysis, business case development and driving prioritization. Lead/execute complex new product development initiatives across large, cross-functional work teams. Actively coaches others in less senior positions.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will focus on working with business and enterprise teams to create strategic product(s), roadmaps, engaging business users during the process and leading a technical team to execute on product vision to optimize our network and achieve business outcomes.
You will operate at the intersection of business, technology, and user experience to deliver functionality that helps us increase user adoption and meet business user needs. You will play a vital role to connect our enterprise business, Technology, enterprise architecture, data science and operations research & engineering teams to help deliver value and support Dataworks objectives in Pillar 1: Run and Change the Business.
Through iterative discovery and experimentation to wide-spread product user adoption and scalability, you will pave the way to create a globally cohesive digital transformation for our OneFedEx future.
Job Description:
- Under limited supervision, this individual is responsible for:
- Leading development of product development strategies, taking into account product life cycle stage and business user needs.
- Understanding business problems, engaging with business users, adopting Dataworks operating model, and communicating how work is driving impact to business
- Collaborating with cross-functional enterprise business stakeholders to develop product use cases and define user journeys (current vs. future state); which lead to optimizing the way we run our network and achieving business outcomes
- Creating an organized team structure and meeting cadence to execute on product vision
- Creating product strategy and clear vision with narratives to communicate at all levels of enterprise
- Leading product strategy that paves development through Dataworks Delivery teams comprised of (Data engineers, data scientists, analysts to deliver iterative product features
- Developing one modeling and technology stack strategy across FedEx enterprise globally
- Prioritizing key MVP (Minimum Viable Product) features to achieve necessary business outcomes iteratively and meet product delivery milestones
- Creating widespread product user adoption plans across global business teams with iterative Minimum Viable Product launches that add value to end users and drive efficiency
- Ability to work with advanced data models and analytics
- Ability to perform fact-based data analysis and interpretation to identify critical business insights
Skills Considered a Plus:

- Knowledge of FedEx operational networks including but not limited to: Network, Linehaul-Air, Linehaul-Road (Surface), Pickup & Delivery, Sort, Clearance, Service & Ops KPIs, Labor, Forecasting.
- An entrepreneurial mindset: comfort moving forward with little guidance, ability to make strategic decisions and defending the decisions you make
- Ability to present new concepts to internal stakeholders and executives and gain feedback on new products
- Demonstrating ability to lead multiple work streams with projects in various phases from ideation through delivery while managing stakeholder expectations
- Experience leading technology teams to define and launch new features with the ability to drive results and keep teams motivated and accountable
- Experience working in scrum/agile management methodologies
- Strong analytical skills: comfort in defining the right metrics to measure how products are impacting users, customers and the business; using this data to evolve the roadmap
- Knowledge of business needs affecting product performance and ability to perform fact-based data analysis
- Strong communication and presentation skills: quantitative, problem-solving skills.
- Strong executive presence and human relations skills
- Strong project management experience

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in Product Marketing, Economics, Business, or related field.
Minimum Experience
Five to Seven (5 - 7) years’ work experience in functions focused on product management, market analysis or research, or equivalent. Superior knowledge of competitive, market and economic factors affecting product performance and ability to perform fact-based data analysis. Expert communication and presentation skills, quantitative, problem structuring & solving skills. Superior executive presence, human relations, networking and influencing skills. Strong project management and project management leadership experience. A directly related master’s degree is equivalent to two (2) years’ experience. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: National Range Monthly Salary is $9,400-$14,100
