Project Eng Specialist
Description
The role leads multiple projects involving information analysis, financial impact, systems analysis and implementation, solutions development, and project management.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates and implements manpower, systems, and corporate projects to reduce operating expenses increase revenue, and enhance customer service.
- Leads the development and implementation of operating plans, conducting studies, and preparing data for analysis by engineers and operations.
- Sets strategies for transforming business processes and operational tools to achieve global excellence.
- Prepares, analyzes, and monitors short and long-term plans
- Leads cross-functional teams in analyzing expansion, new products, procedures, and regulatory requirements and development plans for efficient package volume distribution, ensuring optimum facility utilization.
- Ensures multiple suppliers and hired professional services comply with policies, procedures, and governing authorities.
- Develops procedures for operations, preparing and monitoring operations, and providing analysis of capacity needs, product variance, procedures, technology, and staffing.
- Leads the monitoring, analysis, and recommendation of methods to improve productivity, service, and cost performance.
- Leads and serve on special study teams, oversee research, evaluation, and recommendations of emerging technology and management methodologies.
Leads and oversees:
- Projects and studies in support of objectives, as well as planning, organizing, and scheduling activities for initiatives, is also part of the role.
- Development of project and communication plans, project status to stakeholders, and requirement specifications.
- Studies to implement innovative concepts into operations, systems, and customer solutions to benefit FedEx and its customers
- Collection, analysis, and reporting of financial and operational indicators for corporate and departmental initiatives
- Design and delivery of technical training to personnel through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions in areas such as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluaes capital and expense requests, annual and long-range budget processes, and leading the development of operational and project budgets based on cost-saving recommendations are also part of the role.
- Ensures regulatory compliance in solution design, system development, and testing.
- Prepares and presents business justifications to support funding approval processes.
- Leads communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical and local expertise related to corporate or department initiatives and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline required.
Minimum Experience
Eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to create operating plans, conduct studies, analyze and prepare data for Engineers
Knowledge and ability to create strategies and monitor both long and short-term plans
Strong project management skills and ability to lead project teams
Knowledge of operational and financial plans and data
Ability to manage suppliers
Ability to design and facilitate technical training
Communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: Strong operations management or hubs and ramps engineering experience. Sensors, cold chain logistics, warehousing experience preferred. Diverse experience is a plus (operations, engineering, IT, business, etc.). Software/tool skills considered a plus: Power BI, SQL, Operations Technology (such as scanning, weight/balance, route planning, density/capacity, etc.). Strategy experience with demonstrated results. Remote is an option.
