Description

Responsible for performing quality and compliance reviews of customs entries and related documentation to ensure adherence to customer requirements, government regulations, and company policies. Supports customs clearance activities by identifying and correcting entry discrepancies, maintaining compliance records, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote accurate and compliant processing.

  • Review customs entries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Obtain and verify the correct classification of goods for customs clearance using databases, SOPs, tariff resources, government websites, and other approved sources.
  • Review shipments prior to release to ensure all required documentation is available for processing by Operations.
  • Audit shipments processed through automated systems for accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements, AI enhancements, and customer invoice updates.
  • Solicit, collect, and maintain customs compliance documentation from customers.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, departments, and customers to deliver a high level of service and provide training as needed.
  • Contact customers regarding missing or incomplete documentation to ensure compliant customs entry filing.
  • Review customs entries and make corrections when required to ensure compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, other government agency requirements, customer requirements, and protection of the company's customs bond.
  • Investigate and resolve ABI errors and Census warnings to secure acceptance by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Verify that the appropriate tariff code is assigned to each shipment line and apply missing tariff classifications when necessary.
  • Ensure all shipments subject to Other Government Agency (OGA) requirements are processed in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Create coaching referrals and provide feedback to employees when entry errors are identified to support education, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Support additional workgroups and functions, including but not limited to entry processing and cage operations.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Education

HS Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience

Three (3) years of business or customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Details: Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (Hybrid) Must live within 50 miles of location.
