Ramp Handler
Description
Involves handling packages within an operation including manual handling, sort activities, screening and completing any related administration or paperwork.
General job description:
• Loads and unloads company ULD (unit loading device) and vehicles in a safe manner.
• Audits size and weight of packages and boxes. Sort packages.
• Ensures the use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
• Handles packages to sort.
• Ensures safety of FedEx and customer property.
• Operates company vehicles in a safe and secure manner, when required.
• Picks up and delivers packages as required.
• Monitors and participates in the organization of the work environment.
• Ensures the use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies, procedures, norms, rules, and practices.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education
• High School degree/Equivalent
• Valid Drivers License (C1 or C2) and good driving record, preferred
Minimum Experience
• Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred
Minimum Required skills:
• Ability to lift up to 25 kgs (men) & 12.5 kgs (women) and to maneuver packages with more weight with appropriate equipment
• Must be able to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
