Sales Communication Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Communications Specialist develops, executes and manages the successful deployment of communication strategies and tactics to enable and maximize selling time for the sales organization. This role is responsible for all phases of the communications and creative process from developing strategic objectives and aligning key messaging to writing communication materials including web content, email bulletins, newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, blog posts, proposal content and measuring their effectiveness. This role also interacts with senior level management to assist in the development of communication plans based on sales needs and priorities. Additionally, this position will maintain and control the sales communications editorial calendar, provide key event management for sales conferences and meetings and benchmark best practices across the organization.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Define sales communication project scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Create, maintain and support communications and content development for executive level presentations, proposals, newsletters, sales messages, and video content
Review communication requests and determine if communication is needed. If so, then provide optimal timing and best method for delivery, factoring in audience workload and previous communications sent
Plan, develop and execute strategic, integrated communication programs in support of business activities including new product introductions, customer wins, sales meetings, recognition calls, events, etc.
Read sales proposal content and create collateral to visually and succinctly tell a story
Enhance the layout and appearance of sales communications to create visual stimulation to hook, hold and entice customers to take action
Possess an eye for making communications of all types appealing to the end user
Demonstrate an understanding of the sales support model and best practices
Perform ongoing project management of sales initiatives
Manage communications and incorporate content points from internal customers and subject matter experts into program deployments, respond to support needs and deliver ongoing executable solutions
Manage day-to-day execution of proactive communications programs that support sales business priorities and growth
Collaborate with business partners, including Internal Communications, on company-wide or enterprise wide initiatives as needed to proactively understand business needs prior to production to minimize last minute communications
Draft and edit a wide range of written communication materials to ensure content is easily understood and free from errors, including but not limited to proposals, presentations and sales messages
Ensure all communications and supporting tools are archived for easy retrieval
Responsible for leading cross functional teams and ensuring all Sales field deployments maximize selling efficiencies
All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience developing and implementing communications plans and programs
2+ years sales, sales support or customer-facing communications experience
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator Photoshop, etc.) and Microsoft Office
Experience creating and managing a range of communications media including print, online, mobile and multimedia
Exceptional writing and editing skills, as evidenced by past experience and writing samples
Strong verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
Proven ability to deliver visually appealing action oriented communications of all types
Excellent project management, problem solving skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks successfully
Demonstrated ability to propose creative solutions to complex communication challenges using a variety of communication channels

Ability to travel as required in order to meet with customers, vendors, other team members, and/or other business necessities

Ability, on a consistent basis, to work within the appropriate level of independence
Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position
Preferred Qualifications: Video Production: Produce and edit videos using industry-standard software for campaigns & events; maintain multimedia equipment. Sales Learning & Development: Develop and edit learning tools, lesson modules, & training videos. Multimedia Content Creation: Optimize content for digital platforms, including sales intranet. Communications Support: Collaborate on multimedia strategies to achieve communication goals.

Additional Details: This position will be hybrid in Plano, TX. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.
