Security Officer Armed
Description
- Provides protection for individuals and property from injury and/or criminal acts. Prevents unauthorized entry and respond to emergency situations.
Essential Functions:
- Provides protection for individuals and property from injury and/or criminal acts.
- Prevents unauthorized entry and respond to emergency situations.
- Assists in providing security at special events and for executives if needed.
- Facilitate VIP visits and special events at corporate headquarters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Two (2) years college/equivalent and two (2) years armed experience in law enforcement/military police/security, or four (4) years military experience in Military Police or Infantry/Combat Arms role, or Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Ability to successfully complete required training programs and maintain a special deputy commission.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Job Conditions:
- Must maintain a valid drivers license to operate company vehicle. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be bond-able and qualify for a commission as a special deputy with the Shelby County Sheriffs department. If required to carry a firearm as part of job duties, subject to random drug testing.
