Description

Job Summary

This role supports the Digital Insights & Analytics team at FedEx, focused on analytics for a growing portfolio of API-based digital products that enable transportation revenue and generate incremental digital revenue. This includes commercialized and emerging API offerings such as tracking, webhooks, and related premium capabilities, as well as analytics support for adjacent initiatives across shipping and returns fraud, sustainability, conversion tools, alliance partnerships, and predictive delivery estimates.

The business need for this role is driven by increasing product complexity and rising expectations from product, platform, and commercial teams. Analytics support in this space now extends beyond reporting into solution design, data modeling, automation, and fast technical problem-solving. We need a senior analyst who can take ownership of work end-to-end, from clarifying the business question and designing the analytical approach, through execution in Python and SQL, to delivery of insights and recommendations, without ongoing handholding or rework.

This role will partner closely with product managers, API engineers, analytics engineers, and sales stakeholders to support API lifecycle analytics, including adoption, usage, retention, churn, and commercialization performance. The analyst will be expected to independently manage projects, validate data definitions and assumptions, and deliver scalable, repeatable solutions that can be operationalized over time.

Questions related to API usage, data quality, customer impact, and platform behavior often require same-day investigation and response, requiring fast turnaround, clear communication, and high confidence from stakeholders, while also enabling effective delegation of complex projects that require real-time collaboration and judgment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Product-Focused Analytics

  • Partner with digital product managers and business stakeholders to translate product strategy, commercialization goals, and customer needs into scalable analytics solutions
  • Support API product lifecycle analytics including adoption, usage patterns, segmentation, retention, churn, and revenue contribution
  • Provide analytical insights that inform pricing, packaging, targeting, onboarding, and long-term product roadmap decisions

Advanced Technical Analysis & Solution Design

  • Design and implement analytical models using Python and SQL to support complex product and revenue questions
  • Develop well-structured data models and metrics frameworks that support repeatable, automated reporting and analysis
  • Validate data definitions, assumptions, and methodologies early in the solution design process to reduce downstream rework
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues related to APIs, event data, integrations, and third-party dependencies

Data Products & Automation

  • Collaborate closely with analytics engineers and data engineers to build and enhance data products supporting digital and API analytics
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring analyses, monitoring, and reporting workflows using Python and modern analytics tooling
  • Ensure analytical outputs are reliable, scalable, and aligned with platform standards and best practices

Stakeholder Enablement & Communication

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for product, platform, and commercial teams on analytics-related questions
  • Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex findings into actionable recommendations
  • Support real-time decision-making by providing fast, high-quality analytical responses in a dynamic product environment

Team Leadership & Ways of Working

  • Act as a senior technical resource within the analytics team, mentoring junior and mid-level analysts as appropriate
  • Collaborate with India COE analysts to ensure alignment, consistency, and effective global delivery
  • Work in an agile, product-oriented model with priorities set by the Product Owner, contributing actively to sprint planning and backlog refinement

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, automation, and troubleshooting
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex querying and data exploration
  • Experience with data modeling, metric design, and analytical frameworks
  • Familiarity with digital product analytics, APIs, event-based data, and customer lifecycle analysis
  • Experience building dashboards and analytical outputs using tools such as Power BI (strongly preferred), Tableau, or similar

Business & Product Acumen

  • Strong understanding of digital products, user experience, and long-term value creation
  • Ability to connect analytical insights to revenue generation, customer behavior, and strategic outcomes
  • Comfort working in complex, cross-functional environments involving engineering, product, sales, and external partners

Soft Skills

  • Clear and effective communicator with the ability to explain complex topics simply
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and data quality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly in time-sensitive situations
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable operating with ambiguity
