Job Description:
FedEx has a challenging position for an experienced compliance lawyer based in Kraków, Poland.
We are looking for a lawyer with experience and talent in compliance, reporting to the Manager Legal Counsel, with a dotted reporting line to the Managing Director Legal Compliance (both based in the Netherlands in FedEx’s European HQ). The compliance lawyer will have day-to-day responsibility for, among other things, managing, coordinating, expanding and overseeing the European compliance program, with assistance of our Legal Compliance & Integrity Analysts (also located in Kraków).
Key responsibilities:
- Overall development, implementation, improvement and management of the FedEx European compliance program, including code of conduct and relevant policies and procedures;
- Develop training materials and provide training on a variety of compliance topics;
- Counselling on topics such as conflict of interest, third party compliance, anticorruption;
- Day-to-day management of Alert Line and whistleblower cases;
- Day-to-day management of online and face-to-face training, tracking training completion;
- As part of the program management, remain abreast of laws, regulations, best practices and trends related to FedEx’s compliance programs and government enforcement actions related to compliance generally (consulting the subject matter experts in the Legal team as appropriate);
- Be the linking pin between the European Legal compliance team and the Corporate Integrity and Compliance team in Memphis (FedEx Global HQ);
- Conduct and manage periodical compliance risk assessments.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Significant (7+ years) experience in a similar compliance role
- a relevant Legal Master’s Degree
- In-depth knowledge and significant experience in a broad range of compliance topics
- Knowledge and experience with multinational corporate compliance programs, including experience working with international locations and handling international compliance-related issues
- fluent in English (CEF level C1 or better)
- proficiency in German, Dutch, Italian and/or French would be an asset
- Excellent organizational, communications, project management and human relations skills
