General Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of data-entry tasks, including recording and maintaining records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role verifies shipments against invoices or bills of lading and ensures timely and efficient completion of daily inbound and outbound processes. Responsibilities include data entry, report generation, scheduling, filing, and communication with internal and external customers. The position upholds standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform data entry functions within assigned work area.
- Execute administrative tasks within assigned work area.
- Coordinate and schedule pick-ups.
- Ensure timely and accurate shipment processing.
- Consolidate shipping in a timely and acceptable manner.
- Adhere to Vendor Routing Guide requirements.
- Support computer room functions by generating labels for daily production orders.
- Track monthly rack audit information in Maintenance Connection.
- Track recurring Material Safety Data Sheets in Maintenance Connection.
- Support Operations Analyst by generating custom reports from the Warehouse Management System for work orders.
- Perform inventory adjustment audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
- Support may include additional data entry tasks.
- Analyze workload and communicate with other departments, business units, or transportation carriers.
- Collect, collate, and disseminate departmental data in appropriate report formats.
- Maintain appropriate levels of office supplies and manage interoffice mail distribution.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One (1) year of related data processing experience, ideally in a distribution center environment.
- One (1) year of experience in a warehouse/clerical role using standard practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required.
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Flexibility in meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service driven.
- Strong team player.
