About the Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Facility team, a critical driver of Global Strategic Initiatives. The team manages Facility information across the entire Enterprise that directly impacts how we manage packages and people within the Network. This dynamic role will lead architectural planning and contribute to the operationalization of AI-driven and modernized solutions.

Summary:

This role plays a critical part in advancing enterprise technology strategy, including AI-first initiatives and modernization efforts, by aligning business needs with innovative technical solutions. Facility and location data along with understanding of Operational capability at location; drive supply chain outcomes by enabling effective network planning and guiding package movement across the distribution network to serve our shippers and customers and optimize value for operational profitability for One FedEx.

Collaborates with architectural peers, product owners, stakeholders, and globally distributed teams to define and capture software architecture for systems and components.

Essential Functions

  • Applies enterprise principles, standards, and practices serving as the key conduit that translates the Enterprise Architect’s vision into actionable guidance at the ART level, ensuring alignment, clarity, and execution across teams.
  • Lead the advancement of our AI-first strategic direction and accelerate core network modernization.
  • Work with Senior Enterprise Architect to develop sound architecture for initiatives for the Network Enablement Art.
  • Define and document end-to-end solution architectures for applications and systems aligned to enterprise strategy
  • Experienced Java Developer Version 17 or higher
  • Experienced in Microservice Architecture
  • Evaluate technologies, platforms, and project designs to ensure scalability, sustainability, and architectural consistency
  • Responsible for decisions/priorities regarding the overall solutions architecture.
  • Develop architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
  • Provide technical guidance to the development teams. Mentor those in less senior positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

  • Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Preferred knowledge and/or experience with FedEx facilities and overall operations, with a strong understanding of how facility processes, logistics, and day-to-day operational workflows come together to drive efficiency and execution
  • FedEx Domain knowledge in: Network Planning and Global Pickup and Delivery
  • Experience using SPARX or similar Enterprise Architecture tools

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement.

Domicile:

“This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories. However, if you live within the 50-mile radius of a campus, you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.”
