Description
The Sourcing& Procurement Specialist - Senior will have responsibility for sourcing and category management activities in the assigned categories such as Contract Transportation – Road Linehaul. In collaboration with business partners, you will constantly liaise with the key stakeholders to drive the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
In this role we are looking first and foremost for a fast-learning professional which is not shy of taking initiative and able to forge strong relationships with the many business partners we serve. Our new colleague is able to set category strategy, identify and analyze cost saving opportunities, align complex business requirements, execute multi country tenders through one for our e-sourcing platforms as well as drive execution of the supplier award decision

The Sourcing International team is a young, dynamic team which is responsible for sourcing goods and services that support the business success of FedEx at International level through ensuring quality, availability and innovation with a sustainable competitive cost advantage, working with our suppliers in transparent and ethical ways.

In addition to project managing international tenders our team is continuously scanning our business environment in order to seize opportunities through QDM improvement initiatives which help increase business performance, improve service to our internal customers or reduce cost.
Our team puts high emphasis on continuous personal development. Honing your skills in Quality Driven Management (QDM), Project management, new sourcing technologies or further deepening your knowledge in the fundamentals of road linehaul market shall not deter you when applying for this role.
Sourcing a service or product according to best practices should not be entirely new to you. Knowledge and work experience in international logistics and supply chain management will be considered an important asset.
Responsibilities:
- Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management
- Lead the execution of sourcing strategies for identified categories at international and/or regional level to reduce the cost to serve. As a sourcing professional you will be aware of developments inside the company as well as the market in which you operate. You will be able to set future strategy. This may include a focus on sustainability and the development of sustainable strategic initiatives
- Analyze trends in and outside the company with robust screening of supply markets and continuous market intelligence for identifying innovative opportunities
- Perform procurement reporting and data analysis to propose and execute cost/service improvement opportunities
- Manage relationship and proactively work with relevant stakeholders to identify and prioritize sourcing needs to support on the development of annual strategies and plans to achieve category goals.
- Understand business requirements across categories and define the sourcing strategy to ensure delivery of services in line with expectations.
- Lead the sourcing (RFx) process, including e-sourcing events, from start to finish for complex international projects, which includes setting up the bidding process, negotiating contracts and liaising with legal counterparts to drive a contract to execution.
- Support S&P Procurement Excellence projects and initiatives.
Experience & Abilities required:
- Relevant work experience in international Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Category Management in an international environment, preferably within a multinational company, is preferred.
- The ability to work independently, lead and report on a strategic sourcing program in an international environment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends and manage supporting contract development activities.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills
- Robust change management skills
- Ability to run multiple sourcing projects at the same time
- Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and in a complex matrix organization
- Contract Management and strong negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced level Microsoft office proficiency including expertise in MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel
- Ability to plan, prioritize and deliver own work, sometimes work on short deadlines
- Fluent English language skills (written and verbal). Fluency in another European language is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of contractual terms & conditions for contracts
- Awareness of strategic supplier management
- User-friendliness with tools, systems, web-based platforms
- European nationality or Dutch work permit.
- Ability to work in a constructive and collaborative manner with international stakeholders and external third parties (suppliers). Assertive and knowledgeable to present and convince any audience on a proposed approach.
- Should have strong communication skills (both oral and in writing)
