Job Description Summary:
- Intercepts, analyzes, researches, and investigates domestic and international packages of interest to ensure regulatory compliance and cargo security.
- Provides detailed reports for regulatory requirements.
- Maintains and enforces aviation security regulations to prevent unauthorized access and mitigate potential risks to cargo shipment and aircraft movement.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of standard cargo screening procedures and regulatory compliance for FedEx stations, hubs and ramps and internal computer programs and systems.
- Requires comprehensive facility and equipment assessments.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe and secure movement of cargo shipments through warehouse, airports, and other aviation facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree/equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
- Two (2) years’ experience as an Aviation Security Cargo Clearance Agent within the Global Screening operation or similar field and demonstration of proficiency within required job duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills, human relations, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of FedEx policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance and aviation security is required.
- Ability to successfully complete all required training programs.
- Duties will include regulatory reporting, typing and general administrative duties.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicle.
- Knowledge of aviation security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations required.
- Must be proficient with cargo handling procedures and documentation, including air waybills, manifests, and customs declarations.
- Proficient in operating screening equipment, such as X-ray machines and explosive trace detection systems.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills to identify potential security threats.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used for cargo clearance and documentation.
Job Conditions:
- Annual completion of cargo screening training and certification required.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicle.
- Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to individually lift 50 pounds repetitively and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person in a warehouse environment.
- Maintain successful completion of all basic and recurrency training requirements.
- Fingerprinting required.
- Company travel may be required as needed.
- Required to successfully complete and maintain cargo screening training and certification.
Domicile/Work Location:
- This position will be in Anchorage, Alaska.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: Salary Range: Minimum: $32.49 hourly / Maximum: $40.61 hourly
