Sr Business Strategist
Description
- Provides leadership in the evaluation of strategic objectives, formulation of strategic direction, and supports decision making based on assessment of business trends and data analytics.
- Plans, organizes, and develops analyses/assessments grounded in deep understanding of the business, industry & market trends, consumer behavior, customer segments, and competitive strategy.
- Predicts changes in the current market and summarizes insights from proprietary and third-party data & information to create distinctive insights.
- Develops and implements business analyses, manages business case development, and business-at-risk assessments.
- Develops strategic frameworks and manages processes to build business scenarios.
- Provides a point of view on key strategic issues across major dimensions of the business – competitive activity, customer segments, technology, etc.
- Manages ongoing discussions with peer partners in other internal work groups including peers in international regions on identified priorities supported with clear fact based recommendations.
- Participates in cross-functional meetings and provides insight/guidance to peers/managers in partner teams.
- Interfaces with areas across the enterprise to discuss changes impacted by strategic recommendations.
Master’s degree in a quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study plus 3 years of related work experience. As an equivalent alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative business field or closely related technical specialized field of study plus 5 years of related work experience.
Requirements
The position requires experience with:
- Developing frameworks and dashboards to align technology and business investments with enterprise strategic and financial goals (i.e., Resource and Costing frameworks).
- Proficient in turning complex datasets into actionable insights using tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, and Databricks (i.e., to inform resource allocation and process optimization).
- Skilled in assessing operational workflows and designing scalable processes that improve efficiency, visibility, and cross-functional accountability across large organizations.
- Adept at partnering with finance, engineering, and product leaders to translate strategic objectives into change management and driving adoption of new systems or tools.
- Leading large-scale platform rollouts and integrations across analytics and business environments, ensuring system functionality aligns with user and organizational needs for portfolio management systems.
- Strong capability in building automated reporting pipelines, resource management dashboards, and executive-level visibility tools that enable proactive business and financial decision (with Portfolio Management and Resource Management tools as primary data sources).
- Work experience in functions focused on strategy development, competitive, customer, and industry analysis, market research, analysis of product performance, and support of corporate development/strategic value assessment activities.
- Demonstrated business acumen and experience of supporting strategic assessments that are transformational in nature including understanding the impact of technology trends on business.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, problem structuring & problem solving skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience in databases, business intelligence (BI) tools, MS Office products and data modeling.
- Strong human relations skills.
- Directly related advanced degrees may offset the experience requirements.
- Position requires domestic travel approximately 25% of the time to Memphis, TN for team meetings, team planning sessions, or project working sessions.
- This position is eligible for telecommuting and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories.
