Description

To ensure the conduct of legal matters and to provide legal counsel and advice to the company and its subsidiaries.

Provides legal counsel on an assigned basis to members of management and various departments concerning areas of expertise. Oversees and evaluates the performance and progress of outside counsel representing the company in department-specific matters. Evaluates, determines, and coordinates the appropriate action/position/ response to be taken by the company. Acts on behalf of the company and participates in the negotiations and drafting of legal documents. Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations concerning compliance with federal and state laws and regulations affecting the company's present and future business plans, and recommends actions to affect policy compliance and adopt the best business structure for legal compliance. Conducts or assists in conducting litigation or administrative proceedings affecting the company's interests in his/her field of expertise.

Juris doctorate degree and admission to the bar. Seven (7) years experience as an attorney with at least three (3) years experience in job specific area of law, if applicable. Strong negotiation, human relations, and communication skills.


Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Customs Brokerage Operations, Regulatory, Air, Ocean, and Surface Global Freight Forwarding, Sales/Revenue Contracting, Vendor Contracting, Real Estate and matter as assigned.

Hybrid schedule/ requires onsite attendance three days per week.

Relocation to Memphis is required and provided.
