Description

To provide advisory services in international trade procedures, international supply chain structuring, import/export compliance, NAFTA, HS classification, and foreign trade zones (FTZ). Lead teams of prioritized projects and initiatives within the organization. Coordinate project activities and consult across multiple project teams. Provide mentoring for the development of those in less senior positions.

Bachelor's degree/equivalent. U.S. Customs Brokers License or QDM certification preferred. Five (5) years of experience in international trade, harmonized tariff schedule classification, regulatory compliance or related field. Experience gathering information and presenting findings. Demonstrated experience and excellence in strong human relations, communication, organizational, project management, and analytical skills. Demonstrated experience in leading large scale projects, and business initiatives. Experience in multiple disciplines preferred. Desired candidate would have a passion for international business and trade, intellectual curiosity with a critical thinking, problem-solving mindset and the ability to simplify complex/abstract ideas and concepts for others.

  • Manages the client relationship from contact to project completion.
  • Drafts RFQs and proposals. Determines the scope of services and execute final deliverables with appropriate management concurrence.
  • Conducts compliance reviews, assessments, and opportunity analyses.
  • Provides technical assistance that includes research and developing reports for management and clients.
  • Assumes responsibility for creating realistic customer expectations and timelines, as well as ensure that problems are resolved or escalated appropriately.
  • Provides technical expertise to internal and external customers regarding 19 CFR laws & regulations, other government agencies (OGA), tariff classification, compliance issues, and NAFTA qualification.
  • Researches and monitors industry trends and regulatory updates, summarizing findings for management and assessing potential impact on classification projects, deriving sales opportunities as updates are identified.
  • Develops effective working relationships with Trade Services Global Sales team and internal operations. When necessary, provides spot quote pricing for Sales team and coordinates requests for RFQ.
  • Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with key stakeholders, both external and internal.
  • Engages appropriate operations teams to provide competitive pricing, with the goal of increasing Trade Services’ customer base. Follows up on all pricing presented to solicit feedback on competitiveness and provides management feedback.
  • Ability to work in less structured environment with a process orientation to mine the details without losing the big picture; passion for continuous learning.
