Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides financial and business decision support for large or significant projects and programs. Supports areas including, but not limited to, Strategic Projects, Operations, Finance by applying broad-based financial and multifunctional operational knowledge. Plan, organize and coordinate various initiatives and provide guidance through the application of process and project management, QDM principles and analytical techniques. Serves as a subject matter expert on financial planning and analysis.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides financial guidance, consulting, reporting and support for special and/or strategic project teams. This includes conducting finance work as part of the team and representing the various functions in finance including planning, analysis, forecasting, capital management, and project evaluation.
2. Designs, develops and implements financial models and processes to prepare business and financial analyses in support of business decision making.
3. Serves as a liaison for finance functional areas to ensure the areas are informed of information that is pertinent to the work product/project.
4. Develops internal and external relationships to ensure work coordination and manage information flow across various disciplines as part of an overall project team. Ensures that all relevant parties are represented in project decision making.
5. Provides recommendations and decision making to meet project objectives and define critical paths. Formulates and implements strategies.
6. Coordinates and ensures the timely completion of new business/strategic project development activities in support of the various officers within FedEx.
7. Mentors and advises department personnel within area of responsibility
8. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
9. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related area required.
Minimum Experience
- Ten (10) years’ experience required with at least five (5) of those years working in Finance required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
- Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work professionally with all levels of the organization, build collaborative working relationships and to gain input and influence decision makers
