Description

Oversees the management of a Linehaul (LH) network. Manages the timely and cost-efficient movement of trailers, network-wide movements, purchased transportation, and mainline trailer movements. Manages the day-to-day operations and interacts with contractors in all areas of business and company initiatives. Manages Customer Pickup Coordination (CPC) team(s) within a FedEx FedEx (FedEx) geographic district assignment to achieve CPC organization goals. Collaborates with Pittsburgh FedEx Headquarters (PGH), field management, and internal/external customers to continuously improve processes and performance.

Essential Functions

  • Training / Developing team off 25 Employees through EEQ and development action items, this includes 1 Manager and 1 Field Transportation Specialist.
  • Maintain safety compliance in both CPC and LH through LH preventable rate improvement, safety forums, technology support and Tier 1 and 2 emphasis.
  • Maintain compliance in both CPC and LH through BCSA and BCSA action items.
  • Maintain and enhance productivity goals through cost reduction in LH by ensuring LH lane productivity for LH and SPOT PU, Scheduled PU and Weekend PU Management for CPC.
  • Ensure volume controls in place for Canada region, ensure network doesn’t exceed capacity. Maintain and exceed service levels in LH for OVN and OTS and Network OTS. Maintain and exceed pickup performance for Canada Region.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Communications, Engineering, or related field required. In addition to minimum experience, high school degree or GED and five (5) years related experience is accepted in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years experience required in transportation industry or related area with at least the following in an FedEx, or equivalent if external, role: oTwo (2) years higher-level station management, Customer Pickup Specialist, or District Staff position (including DOES, DAQS, and DPOS) OR
  • Four (4) years CPC Coordinator and two (2) years management

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers, including Independent Contractors (ICs) and Independent Service Providers (ISPs).
  • Ability to interface successfully with multiple and various stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to customer issue resolution required and knowledge of establishing new FedEx pickups process preferred.

Additional Details: Job posting date: 09/03/2025; Job posting end date: 09/10/2025 at 3PM local time. Position is domiciled in Calgary with responsibility of all West Canada Linehaul including staff in Linehaul offices in Calgary, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
