Description

Supports the functioning of the ATC Overflight Rights department in the timely acquisition of enroute navigation clearances as required for international operations. Develop And maintain a flight planning system and procedures ensuring safe and expeditious flow of FedEx air traffic worldwide. Evaluates actual versus expected aircraft performance.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees automation for both sides of the department, Airnav and Ovefly.
  • Develops training for Cross training in the department and yearly training and recurrent training audits and upgrades.
  • Develops audit of overfly permits charges and payment.
  • Represents the department in groups with other departments like OFWG, Charters and IATA Charges group.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in aviation.

Minimum Experience

Four (4) years flight operations experience required, including two (2) years of relevant work experience such as acquisition coordination of slots/permits, overflight and landing rights, or other similar flight-specific experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to understand and use Jeppesen charges and AIP knowledge of international law and the diplomatic process governing aircraft operations, geography, world affairs and international communications.

Thorough knowledge of flight plan preparation, ATC requirements and associated problems. Knowledge Of Air Route Structure and Approach and Departure Procedures.

Knowledge Of Performance Characteristics and Specifications of FedEx Aircraft. Knowledge Of Applicable Fars, Air Traffic Control Regulations, and ICAO Regulations. Strong communication skills.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety sensitive position: ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.


Preferred Qualifications: Commercial Pilot experience or Aircraft Dispatcher experience or Aircraft Dispatcher License is preferred.
