Sr. Paralegal
Description
To provide assistance to the legal staff in carrying out the corporate legal mandates. Assures the day to day flow of documents and Information, develops and administers control systems and procedures for corporate use in monitoring legal activities.
Essential Functions
- Perform advanced legal and factual research; Prepare summaries, including information on alleged lawsuit valuation, for attorney review.
- Draft and/or review case memos for completeness; review research of others prior to attorney review
- Serve as liaison between Legal Department and internal departments, and assist attorneys with communications to external entities, including government agencies and industry groups
- Draft legal-related correspondence at advanced level for review and approval by attorneys
- Provide timely responses and documents to requesting departments and outside agencies and assists outside counsel as requested
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings and discovery-related documents; Accept and deliver documents on behalf of the company when presence of an attorney is not required, or with an attorney when appropriate
- Assist in planning, organizing, administering, and tracking programs and projects handled in legal department.
- Process and review various legal documents and maintain activity log to assure prompt action by the appropriate corporate department
- Work with all departments to ensure timely handling and completion of Company’s legal activities; Respond to requests for information and advice via mail, fax and email
- Assist attorneys with drafting of communications to Leadership and others, when appropriate, and assist with coordinating official corporate communications with Legal Department and Corporate communications
- Assist with training in the development of other Legal Department staff, including temporary employees.
- Assist with developing and conducting training programs regarding legal issues for managers and company personnel
- Work with all departments in the corporation to ensure timely handling and completion of company’s legal activities
- Prepare articles pertaining to Legal Department’s activities for publication in company’s internal communication
- Knowledge of Relativity preferred
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with major in paralegal studies or Associate's Degree in paralegal studies or Bachelor's Degree/equivalent and paralegal certification from an A.B.A. accredited institution. Four (4) years paralegal experience. Excellent research and writing skills. Strong organization, human relations and communications skills.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. Pay: Memphis Pay Range: $37.36/hour - $46.70/hour Pittsburgh Pay Range: $35.49/hour - $53.71/hour
Additional Details: This role is hybrid in Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA and candidates must be in a 50 mile radius. This role is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week. Relocation assistance may be available
