Sr US International Shipping Specialist-1
Description
Ensures the efficient movement and clearance of export freight in compliance with advanced knowledge of established regulations and procedures for any international export freight. Manages freight held "in-bond" per customers' request for broker-select clearance option.
Essential Functions
- Create export shipping documents including AWB, Commercial Invoice, EEI filing, USMCA and request the Certification of Origin (COO).
- Communicate with customer, operations, sales, Regulatory and Legal to ensure proper and efficient documentation.
- Educate customers on creating shipping documents within FedEx.com through web sharing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma/GED.
Minimum Experience
Eighteen (18) months work experience in the international transportation, freight forwarding or brokerage industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of COSMOS, K2, EPOS, VISA, FAMIS, ECIS, ESRG, etc., and strong pc software applications, i.e., word processing, spreadsheet, etc. required. Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and procedures required.
Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrent training.
Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and prioritizing skills. Working knowledge of international shipping paperwork and procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, in a constant state of alertness and multitask efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications: Must possess and required strong knowledge of U.S. Customs and US Export regulations and shipping procedures. Strong knowledge of EEI requirements, Certificate of Origin and USMCA rules. Multiple openings for Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN. Must reside within 50 miles radius of the work location.
