Strategic Advisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Advisor position is responsible for prospecting, cultivating and penetrating new corporate accounts. The Strategic Advisor will provide subject matter expertise and consultative services both internally to FedEx Office and externally to customers. The position will be the focal point for assigned product lines and act as the champion for specific solutions to provide training and operational excellence across the organization.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop product
- Identify initial/ongoing target applications and customers based on assigned product line
- Develop programs that enable Sales to identify and qualify viable target opportunities
- Engage Sales Effectiveness teams to develop and rollout sales training
Support sales
- Collaborate with the Sales leadership team to develop and execute sales strategies for targeted customer accounts and program initiatives
- Develop and support a consultative sales approach in addressing customer’s business need
- Provide subject matter expertise to Sales and assist in prospecting, cultivating, penetrating and closing new opportunities
- Provide coaching and leadership to sales and FXO support team members specific to assigned product line
Promote product
- Champion assigned product line based on customer needs and industry trends
- Leverage internal and external resources to promote assigned product line
- Analyze competition and conduct industry research
Maintain process
- Follow internal FedEx Office processes as applicable
- Follow Customer Lifecycle Management to provide visibility of engagements to peers and management
- Assist with RFP responses, sales presentations, solution development, ROI calculations
Measure performance
- Develop and report on key performance indictors (KPIs) to measure improvement to assigned product line
- Meet performance metrics on relevance and sustainability of target applications, quality of training and promotional materials, program awareness among sales team
Sustain program
- Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of industry trends, customer service expectations and requirements, along with corresponding FXO operations, marketing, pricing and other processes to ensure execution
- Maintain relationship with existing and prospect customers along with sales to update them on assigned product line, aligning with their changing needs and industry trends
- All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of commercial print and sales experience, with a focus on prospecting new customers and developing existing business relationships
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic objectives and tactics to execute against broader organizational strategies
- Advanced level of experience in selling complex solutions, creating sales proposals, and selling the value propositions appropriate to corporate level customers and others in the organization
- Demonstrated understanding of sales financial targets/performance metrics
- Strong conceptual selling, presentation, closing and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to sell to key decision makers and business owners
- For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
- For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook

- Ability to travel as required in order to meet with customers, vendors, other team members, and/or other business necessities
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to read and interpret documents and instructions from customers, vendors, and other team members
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to work within the appropriate level of independence
- Ability on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position
