POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for maintaining positive and productive relationships between the service centre operations team and contractors, within the designated region, as well as monitoring and ensuring fleet maintenance is compliant at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain positive contractor relations by responding to concerns and enquiries in a proactive and timely manner.
2. Act as key liaison between FXFC Operations and contractors in support of positive, open and mutually beneficial relationships
3. Prepare and maintain contractor and maintenance contracts
4. Provide support and guidance to front line supervisors on interpretation of contractor policy and government legislation
5. Manage recruiting initiatives to attract and retain qualified contractors
6. Supervise onboarding of contractors and drivers
7. Provide orientation to new contractors and participate in the delivery of contractor education initiatives
8. Coordinate selection, quality control and rate review of maintenance vendors
9. Work closely with Operations to schedule fleet preventative maintenance and inspections and identify under-utilized assets to be placed in or take out of trailer pool
10. Supervisor licensing and decaling of all contractor and company equipment
11. Monitor, accurately code and report on Fleet Maintenance costs by providing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
12. Ensure fleet compliance with operating standards
13. Provide approval and direction of vendor repairs and invoicing
14. Lead, develop and coordinate daily work of the Contractor Relations & Fleet Maintenance Associates
15. Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years directly related work experience
• Three (3) years transportation experience
• Previous leadership experience, preferred
• Bilingual (English/French) – for Province of Quebec position only
• Valid Driver’s License Required
• Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Governmental Transportation Regulations and others as needed
• Demonstrated experience and ability to lead organizational and cross-sector teams
• Decisive, consultative, inclusive leadership style
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and supervisory skills
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook)
• Willingness to travel; flexibility and adaptability to working environment\

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Frequent overnight travel required
