Description

Coordinate international tax projects of FedEx and its U.S./foreign affiliates to ensure foreign and U.S. tax compliance. Ensure foreign and U.S. tax compliance, planning and research and the structuring of international transactions. Conduct in-depth data analysis, collect, manipulate, test and validate data and analyze alternative project solutions. Formulate recommendations with sufficient justification and documentation. Perform other duties as assigned. 


Requirements 


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Accounting or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years related experience in corporate taxation with a public accounting firm or industry tax department including four (4) years experience in international tax research and compliance. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree or in Accounting or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years related experience in corporate taxation with a public accounting firm or industry tax department including four (4) years experience in international tax research and compliance. Position requires experience with: Technical knowledge of sub chapter C with strong research skills and technical writing ability; Implementing e-invoicing solutions and other electronic filing obligations for Brazil and Mexico (including CTEs and SPED for Brazil or Carte Portes and Complemento de Pagos for Mexico); preparing the tax provision that rolls up into the 10-K as required by the SEC; Knowledge of local transfer pricing regulations and experience with implementing intercompany relationships and transactions while adhering to those local transfer pricing rules; Knowledge of Brazil and Mexico tax laws as it applies to the transportation industry and the knowledge of the processes of calculating the income tax, VAT and other federal and local taxes for these countries; Knowledge of the practices, policies, and procedures of large multi-national companies that helps meet the tax regulatory and compliance requirements for Latin America countries; Knowledge of Deferred Tax Calculations & Analyses that are unique to the transportation industry; Knowledge in working through tax controversies and communicating those issues to upper levels of management; specialized knowledge and skillset to meet with and negotiate with the tax authorities on tax audits and assessments; and experience in recording tax risks that may come from such tax controversies; Good human relations and analytical skills. Position allows for telecommuting from home within commuting distance of Miami, FL. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education. *
