Job Description Summary:
Provides program leadership and tax functional insight to the company’s strategic tax solutions, tax data requirements and process improvements
Essential Functions
- Plans strategic frameworks and manages projects to ensure the organization’s tax strategy is implemented accurately, consistently and in compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and standards
- Monitors the effectiveness of tax process and system controls, identifies process improvements and communicates recommendations
- Manages ongoing discussions with peers in other internal work groups including peers in international regions on identified tax priorities supported with clear fact-based recommendations
- Participates in cross-functional meetings, monitors for tax impacts and provides insight / guidance to peers / Managers / Directors
- Develops and presents Executive level communications to Tax leadership on a routine basis with senior level authority
- Mentors less senior staff providing leadership on a routine basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years directly related tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax department, or other related business experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong human relations, analytical, communications, and research skills.

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience in planning, recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring programs, particularly for interns a plus
- Experience with tax compliance, research and audit processes a plus
- Familiarity with SharePoint, QuickBase, Alteryx or other data visualization and analytics software a plus
Work/Domicile Location:
- This position will be hybrid at Collierville, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location several times per week.
