Technical Advisor
Description
Provides technical advice and expertise to systems development project groups in defining, developing, and reviewing existing, as well as proposed applications, for major computer systems; coordinates the activities between users, technicians, computer, and communication networks. Skilled in one or more programming languages used by FedEx including C#, VB.Net, Java, JavaScript. Strong human relations and communications skills. Knowledge of software engineering principles. Coordinates the activities between users, technicians, computer, and communication networks. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science, math, or other directly related quantitative degree plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of related development and programming experience. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. LMS experience. Experience with distributed systems. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's Degree in computer science, math, or other directly related quantitative degree plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of related development and programming experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience. Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects. LMS experience. Experience with distributed systems.
Special Requirements:
The position requires experience with the following: Analytical skills; Business software, relational databases, web technologies, scripting languages in a business environment; Quantitative business problem solving and troubleshooting abilities; Organizational/time management and planning/project skills; Business Process Development. Skilled in one or more programming languages used by FedEx including C#, VB.Net, Java, JavaScript. Knowledge and experience with object oriented (OO) development, and/or case tools. A related advanced degree may offset related experience requirements. This position will be hybrid in Collierville, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week. Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.
