Trade & Customs Advisor
Description
Provides advisory services in international trade procedures, international supply chain structuring, import/export, compliance evaluations, nafta, hts classificatins, cargo security (c-tpat) programs and bioterrorism, and the foreign trade zones (ftz).
Manages the client relationship from contact to project completion. Drafts proposals and engagement letters. Determines the scope of services negotiates pricing, and executes final deliverables with appropriate management concurrence. Conducts compliance reviews, assessments, opportunity analyses, and feasibility studies. Provides technical assistance that includes research and developing reports for clients. Provides technical assistance that includes research and developing reports for clients. Drafts presentations and provides product collateral and brochures for services/products offered. Generates sales by contacting customers to solicit interest in global product offerings, i.e. World tariff, global trade tools, trade services, and advisory services. Generates revenue by making face to face and telephone sales call on prospective customers and expanding existing customer relationships. Provides fee-based services in customs and international trade. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree/equivalent. Five (5) years professional experience as a consultant/advisor in international trade. Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations, duties/taxes, classifications, and import/export regulations. Strong organizing, planning, communication, project management, and human relations skills required. Customs brokerage license preferred. Master's preferred.
