Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Support, coordinate and communicate with operations, planners and drivers to assist in moving freight in a timely, safe and cost-effective manner, including entry and reporting in required systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Complete and assist drivers with entry of road calls, record/report and communication of driver delay, overweight citations, road side inspections, accidents, chemical spills, seal discrepancies, as they relate to over the road movement in support of the line-haul network

Under close manager supervisor, select vendors from an approved company list, build efficient timelines for resolution and record such events including signing off on the service received from outside vendors when coordinating breakdowns, accidents and chemical spills

Assist in troubleshooting of drivers work day to ensure timely dispatch and arrival with proper equipment and appropriate drivers pay (task, mileage, etc.) including internal and external dispatches (FXF Driver, FXG Drivers, Cartage and Purchased Transportation). Add additional task pay or alternate route information as needed or rerouting due to network or system issues

Assist in developing competency levels in the following areas: computer/operating systems, analytical scope, basic principles of industry and policy/procedures defined by the company. Provide information for Transportation Planners and Operations Management pertaining to trailer registrations, driver logs, trailer manifests, etc.

Approve/deny Hours Of Service exceptions after reviewing the drivers logs and reasoning for exceptions and make all appropriate records including notifying ORIG and DEST SC of delay or rescue if needed.

Troubleshoot TCHEK card opportunities including fuel resets, activations and express code generation. TCHEK and Comdata payments to vendors for service repairs, fuel (gasoline and diesel) and any other expenses that arise (antifreeze, wiper fluid, etc.)

Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of general clerical, Logistics or Business experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and hazardous materials regulations, preferred
  • Knowledge of company policies/procedures, preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Peoplenet, TCHEK/Comdata and Maintenance Control Management System (MCMS), preferred
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of employees
  • Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Hours may vary due to Linehaul and Operational needs
