Vice President, Engineering and IT

General Summary:
Reporting to the President, this position represents the senior-most role in new business solutions, implementation design and IT. The Vice President, Engineering and IT will provide strategic leadership to the team that is responsible for effectively deploying Best in Class solutions for new business implementations and IT. The position will develop a world class team, process, and systems to support and scale for growth and meet company objectives around people, service, and profit.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior-most executive representing the product and solutions implementation team delivering results for the organization and support of the company’s overall strategic goals.
- Sets strategic vision for overall performance and productivity by understanding industry dynamics, customer-industry forecasts and partnering with the leadership team.
- Validates and challenges new customer solutions and design implementation.
- Responsible for managing and developing best in class IT infrastructure team
- Responsible for managing and developing IT reliability and InfoSec team
- Responsible for ensuring continual oversight of new business implementation projects throughout their life cycles; ensuring they achieve on-time and on-budget performance.
- Continuously evaluate new opportunities to achieve fast time to value and launch new solutions that adds value to the business.
- Develop set standard with the solutions team to ensure we are using our product standard offering while working in collaboration with product management to provide solutions to incoming requests.
- Optimize product offering by establishing best practices for facility design.
- Leverage resources in engineering and quality functions to develop a consistent, repeatable, and scalable design for the Company.
- Oversees team that is responsible for translating customer technical requirements in new product offerings and selects the FedEx standard capabilities that meet those needs.
- The implementation team is responsible for providing solutions that work across the FedEx Enterprise and capable of discussions with customer on developing best in class supply chain solution.
- Sets strategic direction for product testing, evaluation, and quality standards through the product integration with the customer.
- Ensures metrics, reports and standard work are being utilized in compliance with FedEx standards.
- Through engagement and collaboration, work with leadership and staff to make Quality Driven Management and its associated processes intrinsic to everyday practices.
- Ensure FedEx brand standards are upheld, particularly in the delivery of customer facing engineering and quality standards.
- Assess and adapt to industry trends and changes, recommending changes or improvements within the engineering and quality functions. as necessary.
- Advanced degree in Business preferred. BA/BS degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related field is strongly preferred. Additional job-related certifications preferred. ISO, ASQ, Six Sigma certifications preferred.
- Span of control is organizational wide.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of proven management experience, preferably in a multi-customer logistics environment with healthcare or other regulated environments.
- Strong management and prioritization skills, including leading and coordinating multiple projects, influencing non-direct reports and peers, ensuring on-time delivery, collaborating with consultants, and successfully navigating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment.
- Strategic vision: experience creating long term solutions to help support business growth.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively at multiple levels, in support of our customer relationships.
- Demonstrated self-confidence, particularly with client relationships; strong relationship building skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, teammates, customers, and the general public.
- A proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports and subordinates.

Pay Range: 180000.00 (Min) - 267500.00 (Mid) - 355000.00 (Max) Yearly
