POSITION OVERVIEW: Leads the design, development and delivery of innovative, scalable, and high-performing new applications that align with business goals and future needs. This role ensures that modern platforms, tools and technologies are leveraged to drive business value while actively fostering a culture of innovation, agility and continuous improvement. The position requires a strong focus on technical leadership, team development, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions — with a deep understanding of emerging technologies, modern software development practices and the freight and logistics domain.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the design, development and deployment of new applications critical to the business, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with organizational goals
Design, develop and implement modern accelerated development methodologies at scale Collaborate with business leaders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into technical requirements and actionable plans
Develop phased implementation plans and roadmaps for new applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes
Identify, prioritize and manage opportunities for innovation, scalability and performance optimization in new applications
Partner with architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for new application performance, adoption and business impact
Manage vendor relationships for modern technologies, ensuring service levels and support agreements are met
Select, train, motivate and develop strategies for direct reports; develop personnel with a view towards succession planning
Provide expert advisory on emerging technologies, integration strategies and application lifecycle management
Communicate clearly with leadership on the status, risks, and plans for new application initiatives Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
May assume additional areas of responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, data science or other quantitative discipline and/or equivalent formal training or work experience; advanced degree preferred, plus ten (10) years’ experience in a data driven, enterprise-scale environment, which includes five (5) years of management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development and delivery of enterprise-scale applications using modern technologies.
- Experiencing managing teams with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Go) and cloud-native platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Extensive experience in technology implementation and modern software development practices, including Agile, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strategic planning capabilities to develop short and long term improvement plans.
- Ability to lead and manage teams and interact with all levels of management.
- Strong negotiation skills/techniques.
- Excellent analytical, time management, organizational, problem solving and decision- making skills.
- Proven collaboration with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Approachable by all levels of employees and be able to effectively communicate with the same.
