Monday - Thursday - 1st Shift (Day)

Location: Coteau-du-Lac, Qc

F Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 6:00AM-4:30PM

Department: Maintenance

Position Summary

The Recyclable Materials Attendant supports the supervisor in all activities related to material disposal and building maintenance. This role ensures safe and orderly handling of recyclable materials while maintaining a clean, efficient, and compliant work environment in accordance with FedEx Supply Chain and CSST standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely dispose of plastic, cardboard, and other recyclable materials.
  • Ensure cleanliness of floors and general building areas.
  • Support other shifts as needed to maintain operational continuity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment per client and regulatory standards.
  • Complete monitoring and control reports as required.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in an industrial or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is an asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work in a computerized environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Customer service oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Bilingual oral and written communication skills are an asset.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods.
  • Certification for rolling and motorized equipment is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to variable temperatures.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 15 meters.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use hands for handling materials and tools.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
  • Visual acuity including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 25 pounds.

In addition to the usual factors used in the selection process, all candidates for positions that require driving as a core competency must have a valid driver's license (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 [AZ]) and a driving record with two or fewer violations and/or accidents in the 24 months prior to the date of application.

Further, candidates will be assessed through careful consideration of:

  2. Their performance during application interviews
  3. Their performance on any driver competency assessments administered

Pay Range

CAD $16.06 - CAD $27.02
