POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provides enterprise wide leadership, governance, and strategic oversight for all IT vendor relationships and technology contracts. Responsible for establishing and sustaining a mature Vendor Management Office (VMO) that ensures vendors deliver measurable value, contractual compliance, financial transparency, and risk mitigation across the full contract lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Provide enterprise leadership for IT vendor management and contract governance, ensuring consistency, discipline, and value realization.
2.    Establish, operate, and continuously mature the Vendor Management Office (VMO) as foundational capability within the technology organization.
3.    Define and govern end-to-end IT contract lifecycle management, including intake, inventory, prioritization, negotiation, renewal, amendment, and termination.
4.    Serve as the strategic authority for IT vendor commercial strategy, including pricing models, contract structures, and value-based agreements.
5.    Manage and review technical and operational documentation of in-scope security systems to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
6.    Lead and support strategic vendor negotiations in partnership with legal and procurement to optimize cost, flexibility, service outcomes, and risk.
7.    Ensure IT contracts align with technology strategy, operating models, service expectations, and financial plans.
8.    Establish vendor segmentation models and governance frameworks for strategic, critical, and transactional vendors.
9.    Define, monitor, and report on vendor performance metric, service level adherence, financial outcome, and contractual obligations.
10.    Partner with cybersecurity, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure vendor agreements meet security, regulatory, data protection, and resilience requirements.
11.    Provide executive-level visibility into vendor risk, renewal timelines, financial exposure, and optimization opportunities.
12.    Drive continuous improvement in vendor transparency, accountability, and commercial rigor across the technology organization.
13.    Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
14.    Perform other duties as required

Pay Transparency:

The compensation listed reflects the pay range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position at the posted location(s). Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. Eligible employees offered health, vision, and dental insurance, employee assistance program, personal/sick paid time, 401(k) retirement savings plan, bonus potential, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, 2 weeks paid parental leave, paid bereavement, employee discounts, 6.67–13.34 hours vacation per month based on service time, 8 paid holidays.

Pay Range: $83,799.00 - $160,894.00 per year

Colorado Pay Ranges: Colorado Springs, Grand Junction $89,665 - $143,465; Henderson, Mead $94,693 - $151,509; Gypsum $100,559 - $160,894

Illinois Pay Ranges: Effingham, Kankakee, Lincoln, Quincy, Rockford, Aurora $89,665 - $143,465; Bolingbrook, Chicago Heights, Des Plaines, Elmhurst, Forest View, Joliet, Schaumburg, Summit-Argo, Zion $100,559 - $160,894

New York Pay Ranges: Plattsburgh, Buffalo, Watertown, North Chili, East Syracuse, Nichols $89,665 - $143,465; Bethpage, Montgomery, West Babylon $100,559 - $160,894

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full/part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
•    Seven (7) years of experience in infrastructure engineering, architecture or related technology leadership roles
•    Proven expertise evaluating and recommending infrastructure technologies, platforms and architectural patterns.
•    Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure domains including computer, storage, network, and cloud operations
•    Experience advising senior technology leadership on investment planning, technology adoption and standards definition.
•    Strategic advisory skills to influence enterprise infrastructure investments and technology decisions.
•    Advanced technical expertise to define and recommend infrastructure architectural standards.
•    Strong communication and influencing skills to guide senior leaders and Infrastructure teams effectively.

Additional Details: While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental U.S.
