Cyber Security Principal
Description
About the Role
FedEx is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Cyber Security Principal to join the Enterprise Fraud & Security Solutions organization. This is a critical leadership role responsible for defining and delivering enterprise-wide strategies to combat sophisticated fraud and protect the integrity of our global logistics network.
As a Principal-level leader and subject matter expert, you will architect and scale advanced fraud prevention solutions that proactively detect, deter, and disrupt emerging fraud schemes. You will operate at the intersection of cybersecurity, data architecture, and physical supply chain operations—bridging digital threat intelligence with real-world logistics risks.
This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on technical leader who can anticipate evolving fraud vectors, influence enterprise-wide decisions, and engineer resilient, data-driven defenses at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Fraud Architecture
Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, enterprise-grade fraud prevention systems and controls tailored to a complex global logistics environment.
Advanced Threat & Fraud Mitigation
Develop and operationalize strategies to detect and prevent sophisticated fraud schemes, including shipping fraud, account takeovers, synthetic identity fraud, label manipulation, and insider threats.
Data-Driven Detection & Intelligence
Champion advanced analytics, machine learning, and behavioral modeling to identify anomalous patterns, high-risk transactions, and coordinated fraud activity before business impact occurs.
Business Process & Control Optimization
Partner with Product, Operations, and IT to redesign workflows and eliminate systemic vulnerabilities while maintaining a seamless customer experience.
Security & Network Integrity
Act as the technical bridge between digital fraud systems and physical operations, ensuring end-to-end protection of package flow, cargo security, and logistics network integrity.
Fraud Investigation Leadership
Serve as the senior escalation point for high-impact fraud incidents, translating investigative insights into long-term architectural improvements and preventative controls.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Influence and align stakeholders across business, engineering, and operations to drive enterprise fraud initiatives without direct authority.

Application Modernization
- Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful services, and microservices architectures
- Proficiency with GKE, Cloud Run, and Apigee
Event-Driven Architecture
- Experience transitioning from legacy middleware (e.g., TIBCO EMS) to scalable, event-driven systems
AI/ML for Fraud Detection
- Familiarity with Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, or similar platforms for real-time anomaly detection and fraud scoring
What Sets This Role Apart
- Direct impact on protecting a global logistics network at massive scale
- Unique blend of cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and physical supply chain security
- High-visibility role with influence across enterprise architecture and operations
