GENERAL SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary
Provides data support, analysis and trending to present to the Quality Process Specialist, Engineers and management. Determines the most effective way to collect and assemble data (operational, budgetary, performance, etc.) and responses to appropriate parties for analysis and implementation. This position will also create and update databases, processes and provide project support.
Essential Functions
Collects, organizes, and provides daily service and operational updates to district management team.
Assembles data to review and update key indicators of field performance and assist in root cause analysis.
Gathers response due requests from corporate, regional, and district levels.
Creates and modifies databases to support operational decisions made by Engineer and Specialist.
Provides analysis, trending and presenting of data to the Manager and/or DMD.
Continuously updates current internal processes for improvement with limited guidance.
Identifies opportunities for automation in current internal processes.
Compiles, refines, and reviews financial information to assist Engineer and Specialist in budget goal setting.
Participates by providing assistance on QAT’s, special projects, and cross functional projects.
Collaborates with the District Quality and Process Specialist to manage the DCRT process.
Actively supports the CSM process for the District staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software with an emphasis on Excel/Database proficiency.
Must have the ability to learn and leverage various computer programing skills such as Access, SAS, SQL, MiniTab, VBasic to improve in creating data analytic reports/queries.
Ability to develop effective methods for data mining, tracking, trending, graphing, and analyzing large sets of data.
Ability to produce complex data models and pivot tables preferred.
Working knowledge of Business Objects reporting or similar reporting tool.
Verbal, written, and use of PowerPoint communication skills necessary to explain or present complex analyses results and provide recommendations in regards to process improvements and/or confidential information.
Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to dock operations.
Ability to perform cost justification analysis.
Fundamental understanding of QDM/TQM/Six Sigma and root cause analysis preferred.
Ability to travel in order to support data collection for DCRT review and other ad hoc needs as directed. (Travel time less than 25%)
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
In addition to high school diploma or GED and four (4) additional years’ experience in supporting data collection and analysis is accepted in lieu of a degree.
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years’ experience preferred in supporting data collection and analysis.
