Description
Plans, organizes, develops, and implements compliance and support programs for worldwide import/export processing of international shipments, ensuring all aircraft and shipments are transported legally and in compliance with government laws and regulations. Assists customers worldwide in complying with import/export regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
Selecting, training, motivating, and developing a staff of managers and employees to support worldwide import/export processing of international shipments.
Representing the corporation with regulatory agencies on import/export regulatory issues.
Developing and maintaining relationships with representatives from U.S. Customs & Border Protection and other government agencies, as well as supporting industry outreach with appropriate trade and industry organizations.
Advising executive management in formulating and approving policies and programs regarding regulatory compliance and systems.
Directs and develops regulatory affairs plans for US clearance operations in conjunction with the legal department, as well as developing and directing contingency plans to ensure US clearance service is maintained during adverse operating conditions.
Conducting comprehensive audits of established import/export processes and operations to ensure proper control and disposition of shipments.
Developing and implementing system requirements and business process changes to meet regulatory requirements.
Developing, assembling, and analyzing clearance and transit locations globally to determine compliance in meeting regulatory and service requirements.
Leading collaborative efforts with engineering, operations, and corporate departments to drive process improvements and innovative solutions using Quality Driven Management (QDM) principles.
Providing regulatory direction and advice to FedEx management, marketing, sales, legal, and customers.
Provides regulatory expertise for planning and implementing solutions for large global customers utilizing various services.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field required.
Minimum Experience
Seven (7) years' experience in managing corporate programs, planning, regulatory affairs, and customer interactions with a minimum of one (5) of those years in management or in Regulatory Legal Team required. Proven experience in a leadership role with demonstrated success in driving business programs or transformation initiatives.

Demonstrated self-confidence and strong relationship building skills. Ability to effectively present information and deliver executive presentations. Regulatory and Clearance Operations.
Job Conditions
Some travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred skills: Strong program/project management background. Regulatory and customer engagement experience preferred.
