Operations Strategy Consultant Advisor
Description
- In this role, you will work as a strategic consultant to FedEx business domains, serving as a subject matter expert, providing thought leadership and pushing business leaders to identify out-of-the-box opportunities that drive progress within the P&L.
- You will play a vital role in defining and advancing the organization's strategies and initiatives to deliver value, ensuring that the right level of rigor and visibility is provided for desired outcomes.
- You will collaborate closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to brainstorm solutions and influence business decisions using a fact-based approach, take new ideas from concept to execution, and communicate with key stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge and ability to provide subject matter expertise on FedEx operational networks and/or business functions. Specific areas are Airline, Surface (Linehaul, Dock, Freight, Pickup & Delivery, Safety and Surface Operations), Network 2.0, Data and Technology, Service Excellence, Commercial, Global Clearance, Enterprise Excellence/Corporate Functions and Procurement.
- Ability to perform fact-based data analysis and apply insights to strategic decision-making.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and executives.
- Ability to make and defend strategic decisions that align with business objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from ideation through execution to deliver business outcomes.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to move forward with limited guidance.
- Attention to detail and ability to develop accurate and clear written materials.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to follow up on feedback and ensure positive outcomes.
Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related discipline plus 5 years of experience in business operations, transportation, logistics, or related fields, with leadership experience. As an equivalent alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related discipline plus 7 years of experience in business operations, transportation, logistics, or related fields, with leadership experience.
Requirements
The position requires experience with:
- Comprehensive understanding of package logistics in the transportation industry to include standard network routing concepts.
- Experience consulting with executive leadership for the purpose of persuasion to include problem statement explanation, recommendations with alternatives proposed, and calls to action.
- Meticulous attention to detail for purposes of drafting processes and procedures for later execution and measurement against.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets to draw conclusions for presenting actionable next step recommendations tailored to audience members to include individual contributors up to and including executive leadership.
- Ability to bring disparate groups together representing both business and IT interests with diverging objectives to drive consensus with actionable next steps which then require the qualified individual to oversee the execution of including reporting goals to target, roadblock identification and removal, and completion.
- A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements.
- This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
