This position will be part of the Field/HUB IT Leadership team in Europe. IT will report direct to the VP Field IT to guarantee impact.
One part of the individual’s role will be to support the department with gathering, analyzing and digesting financial relevant information to the department and presenting this in a readable and actionable format to the management team. This may come in different BAU or project assignments incl. but not limited to following up of the dtd expense and capital budget, guiding/delivering of savings programs, playing link into accounting, completing financial reporting, analyzing and providing ROI calcs for projects, track FTE/OSV evolution and cost etc.
A second part of the role will in the broad audit space. Here the contribution may incl. but is not limited to e.g. perform internal audits, follow up and assist in closing out departmental audit action points, follow up on infosec averts, be involved in projects that improve our operational efficiency
The person will also Administer www.Planview.com for the department – a FedEx corporate tool that manager and prioritizes all our work across the organization, includes financial data, value assessment and result tracking.

What you will be doing:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Amongst others but not limited to:
Be the financial controller of the departments – keep our department of 300 to 650 IC’s financially on track
Help drive savings and project by providing excellent financial detail and follow up
Develop financial process where required, train other staff if needed
Interface with financial accounting
If numbers are involved, you will be in the spotlight – not just accounting but more overall, you will be our go-to for analytics and related assignment
Conduct audits and help close audit items
Follow up on averts, SOX, PCI etc.
Train and mentor others were required
Optimize operational Field/Hub IT teams across multiple countries in Europe,
Drive improved InfoSec posture in the Field/Hub IT space
Develop executive level presentations and coordinate reviews/meetings to ensure alignment between IT plans and Business needs.
Drive Quality Driven Management through the organization by identifying metrics, performance standards and holding team accountable to use tools and method necessary to facilitate executive level decision making.
Manage and optimize resources to meet SG&A targets and operational needs; manage vendors to increase value return of our spending.
Support compliance with relevant laws and FedEx regulations/policies/InfoSec standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; MBA/advanced degree and multilingual preferred. The ideal candidate is a leader with a proven track record in global collaboration, project/process/program management and improvement, QDM or Lean expertise. He/She loves numbers and knows Excel and other reporting tools as Spotfire in-and-out. A strong analytical brain with common sense. Audit experience is a strong benefit. We are not looking for a sideline consultant but for a do-er attitude who is willing to help in the trenches. Strong communication skills, business and team partner experience. Experience and awareness of Express and/or TNT financial operational processes are a benefit. Travel required (incl. air – and drivers licence)
