As Engineering Manager at Fedex Dataworks Poland you will lead software engineering team implementing and scaling worldwide the new FedEx data-driven e-commerce platform fdx (www.fdx.com). You will cooperate with highly qualified engineering experts and a wide group of business stakeholders in an international environment.
What You’ll Do:
Leads an engineering team responsible for implementation of strategic fdx platform at FedEx.
Takes ownership for designing, building, testing, and maintaining a large-scale cloud-native fdx platform using Azure, Java, Kotlin, and React.js.
Uses expertise to lead a team that initiates and delivers end-to-end solutions that drive business results, including proofs-of-value for new business problems and production-ready solutions for customer-facing products.
Mentors other team members to drive results and effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver business goals.
Facilitates effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
Manages performance reviews, career development plans, and training for team members, fostering professional growth and skill enhancement.
Provides professional consultations and substantive advice to senior management.
Cooperates with the FedEx Dataworks leadership team in Poland, helps in the development of the branch and building the culture of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Engineering and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Seven (7) years equivalent work experience in leading software engineering teams in international environment.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
Extensive software engineering expertise including design, development, implementation and scaling cloud-based platforms.
Strong understanding of the IT industry, current market trends and evolving technologies, with special emphasis on the platform engineering concept.
Strong oral and written communication skills, both in Polish and English
Willingness to travel to USA or Netherlands for business purposes (around 5% of the time).
