Portfolio Business Architect-4
Description
Responsible for translating the companys business strategy into actionable strategic roadmaps. This involves understanding the interrelationships among various value streams and their influence on the overall strategic vision. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels to articulate the connection between business needs and developed capabilities. The incumbent will also assess the impact of industry and technology trends on the strategic business vision and recommend cross-value stream action plans.
Essential Functions
- Engages with business and technical stakeholders to understand and document the FedEx strategy, including target capabilities, current state assessment, and recommendations for transition plans.
- Participates in the execution of the portfolio governance process to assess IT solutions and prioritize them for executive management.
- Collaborates with the Business and IT architecture community to apply architectural principles and translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps
- Communicates complex solutions to all levels of stakeholders, including executive management.
- Supports the SAFe Portfolio Kanban process by breaking down portfolio epics into smaller, consumable work bundles for value streams.
- Actively collaborates with Value Stream Business Architects to elaborate value stream backlog bundles of work and synchronize execution with the strategic roadmap.
- Assesses and documents the impact of changing strategic direction on established and planned roadmaps.
- Contributes to the growth of understanding and knowledge of Business Architecture practices, processes, and tools throughout FedEx.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree/equiv in engineering, math, IT systems, or a related discipline. Related experience may offset degree requirements. Related experience may offset degree requirements.

Seven (7) years of experience in an analytical role with larger projects with value stream or organization-wide impact. Related education/degree may offset experience requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous work in SAFe and Agile environments. Strategic thinking, abstract reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. Systems knowledge and influential leadership skills. Strong breadth and depth of cross-functional business knowledge. Information Technology knowledge as it pertains to company systems.

Some travel required.
Preferred Qualifications: A strong background in Clearance, Pickup & Delivery, Linehaul, Sortation, Network and Shipment.

Additional Details: This position is eligible for telecommuting and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories.
