Description

The Portfolio Program Management Principal serves as a thought leader and consultant, planning & facilitating demand triage & governance forums. This role is responsible for managing a single enterprise workflow to take value driven ideas from concept to execution and facilitating cross-DRIVE Domain/Portfolio governance to deliver value within the one FedEx operating model, while ensuring the right level of rigor and visibility is provided for desired outcomes. This role will also specialize in influencing strategic business decisions and facilitating prioritization and trade-off discussions with senior leadership. This individual must have strong communication skills, an approachable and professional presence, and a solid understanding of technical and business processes across the enterprise. Some travel may be required.

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS

  • Partners with Demand Requestors/Initiative Owners, Enterprise Strategic Program Managers, Portfolio leads, Architecture teams, and Leadership to enable value-based decision making and ensure alignment and prioritization of demand.

  • Independently managing day-to-day oversight of governance forums; prepares written and verbal content to facilitate problem solving and prioritization & trade off decisions.

  • Providing updates to all levels of stakeholders to escalate risks and issues, updates, tracks, communicates status of initiatives through the demand lifecycle and monitors timing of release milestones.

  • The ability to think strategically. Influencing business decisions using appropriate, fact-based information synthesized from structured and unstructured data.

  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, ceremonies, etc. as applicable to remove barriers, improve collaboration, mitigate risk, and ensure the free flow of information between all impacted stakeholders.

  • Driving consistent use of operating model standards and tooling to ensure solid execution and accelerated value delivery.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – AI STRATEGY FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the AI enablement as a practice within portfolio operations, identifying high-value use cases, standing up agent-based capabilities, and partnering with Enterprise. Embed AI insights into across teams and workflows, improving decision quality and speed.

  • Agentic AI & Workflow Orchestration - Designing and deploying autonomous AI agents. Turn manual marketing processes into automated agentic workflows.

  • Architecture & Integration – connecting APIs, event triggers, approval loops between AI tools and enterprise systems (CRM, CMS, or ERP).

PORTFOLIO REPORTING, METRICS AND TOOLING FUNCTIONS

  • Leadership for the tools, dashboards and reporting to provide the right level of status, visibility to save time and drive positive outcomes.

  • Collaborates with the enterprise tooling and data analytics teams to integrate into corporate systems, leverage common data sources and ensure data quality.

BUSINESS AGILITY OFFICE FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the evolution of the Commercial Portfolio product development operating model through business agility constructs aligned to the Scaled Agile Framework.

  • Develop the organizational change management (OCM) strategy that will improve the overall maturity of the portfolio based on benchmarks with the Scaled Agile Framework. Influence communities of practice (CoP) to establish consistent standards for key roles across the portfolio.

  • Create and implement the communications strategy in support of the OCM plan and changes to the operating model. Enhance communications by building the CBAO brand and developing the SharePoint site as a hub for information.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Process excellence, portfolio scheduling and coordination, identifying capacity constraints and bottlenecks, portfolio health metrics, portfolio maturity metrics.

  • Designing and deploying autonomous AI agents. Turn manual marketing processes into automated agentic workflows.

  • Connecting APIs, event triggers, approval loops between AI tools and enterprise systems (CRM, CMS, or ERP).

  • Data analytics, data synthesis and tracking, software tools Power BI and creating dashboards to enable strategic decision making, benchmarking, prototyping.

  • Develop forecasting and predictive modeling that projects roadmaps based on capacity, timing and other constraints.

  • Design and implement Power Platform Automation flows, Power Apps, and SharePoint solutions that replace manual processes with scalable automation.


Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent in business administration, engineering, or related field. Related experience may offset degree requirements.

Minimum Experience 

  • Seven (7) years of experience in portfolio and/or program management in a business environment with demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects and programs and build professional rapport. Additional related skills, education/degree may offset experience requirements.

  • Knowledge of portfolio management processes, tooling, and governance.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain and present complex information to all levels.

Pay: Memphis, TN range: $7,488.36/mo - $12,355.79/mo; Pittsburgh, PA range: $7,882.48/mo - $13,006.09/mo; Plano, TX range: $7,882.48/mo - $13,006.09/mo

Additional Details: This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, or Plano, TX and candidates must live within a 50 mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning employees will be required to work at a FedEx Campus location 2four (4) times per week.
