Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Organic Social Media Strategist to serve as the strategic engine of our global organic social function. This role will define and elevate organic social strategy, performance measurement, planning rigor, and operating frameworks across global markets.

The position ensures our organic social presence evolves with platform, audience, and algorithm changes while enabling creative teams to execute at a higher level of quality and consistency.

A key component of this role is strengthening internal capability by optimizing and selectively transitioning work from external agencies into scalable internal operating models where appropriate, improving efficiency, consistency, and strategic control.


Primary Objectives

· Establish and evolve global organic social strategy and operating model

· Define and own performance measurement frameworks and KPI standards

· Lead global planning and content governance across markets

· Improve efficiency between internal teams and external agencies

· Strengthen insight-led content development and optimization cycles


Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Measurement & Insights

· Own global organic social measurement framework, KPIs, and success definitions

· Develop quarterly performance dashboards with actionable insights

· Translate data into strategic recommendations for content and channel optimization

· Partner with analytics teams to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency

Planning & Operating Model

· Lead annual and quarterly organic social planning cycles

· Develop global content calendars and prioritization frameworks

· Build operating models, playbooks, and governance structures

· Drive cross-channel integration and experimentation frameworks

Global Leadership

· Serve as global center of excellence for organic social strategy

· Guide regional teams on execution while ensuring global consistency

· Identify scalable best practices and eliminate low-impact activity

· Maintain brand voice and platform alignment globally

Cross-Functional & Agency Management

· Act as strategic liaison across Brand, Marketing, Communications, Creative, and Product

· Support business units with enterprise-level social strategy guidance

· Manage external agency relationships, ensuring alignment to global strategy

· Evaluate agency output and performance; identify opportunities to streamline or internalize work

· Transition repeatable or strategic agency-led work into internal ownership where appropriate


Minimum Education

Master's Degree/equivalent in marketing, finance, computer science or related business discipline.


Minimum Experience

Five (5) years' experience in marketing, advertising, sales administration, or related discipline. Experience leading complex and interrelated initiatives in a corporate environment. Directly related advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. Directly related experience may offset degree requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

· 7+ years in organic social media, digital content, or brand strategy (preferably B2B or global orgs)

· Proven experience building end-to-end organic social strategies across major platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)

· Strong expertise in social analytics, KPI development, and performance storytelling

· Experience building dashboards and executive-level reporting narratives

· Demonstrated experience managing external agencies and transitioning work in-house

· Experience working across global, multi-market teams

Domicile Info: The preferred locations for this hybrid position are Memphis, Pittsburgh, and Dallas. We will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories. Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.
