Project Management Advisor - Airline Operations
Description
This position is part of the corporate initiatives program management team. The team supports strategic programs of FedEx Corporation by facilitating and executing on programs that are critical to the long term success of the corporation. The position supports the implementation of project renewal across the operating companies and services by facilitating various work streams, creating and implementing departmental program management processes, Tools and techniques. Leads projects to enable realization of benefits for the programs, ensures best practices are used, and provides visibility to senior management on the current status of programs.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, strategic, and versatile Project Management Advisor to join our technology team supporting Airline operations. Sitting at the crucial intersection of technical program execution, enterprise change management, executive communications, and digital training content creation, this role is responsible for driving high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that power our core transportation, logistics, and supply chain infrastructure.
The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of robust technical program management, deep domain expertise in transportation systems, strategic communications, multimedia/video production capabilities, and technical literacy. Operating without formal authority, this Advisor will leverage modern AI-assisted collaboration tools (such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and other Generative AI applications) to accelerate delivery lifecycles, streamline complex documentation, drive rapid knowledge-sharing across the organization, and enhance stakeholder alignment.
As a vital bridge between technical execution, business operations, and the executive suite, the Project Management Advisor will partner directly across senior leadership to translate technical roadmaps, database migrations, and complex operational modernizations into clear communication strategies, high-quality training and educational video programs, governance frameworks, and executive-level updates.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Program Execution & Agile Delivery
- End-to-End Program Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact engineering and operational initiatives supporting agile methodologies for Airline IT and the broader One FedEx strategy.
- Risk & Dependency Mitigation: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate cross-team technical dependencies, system integration bottlenecks, and operational constraints across complex transformation programs.
- Strategic Influence: Partner across organizational boundaries to align diverse stakeholder groups, manage project lifecycles, and drive accountability without direct authority.
2. Executive Communications & Strategic Alignment
- Executive Messaging & Narrative Strategy: Design and execute communication strategies that support major business transformations. Partner directly with executive leaders to draft presentations, talking points, enterprise-wide announcements, and strategic narratives.
- Complex Technical Synthesis: Translate multi-layered technical roadmaps, cloud infrastructure developments, and database migrations into clear, compelling, and actionable executive updates.
- Cross-Functional Governance: Establish robust communication frameworks that foster transparency, consistency, and alignment across separate business and technology organizations.
3. Platform Governance & Digital Asset Management
- SharePoint Architecture & Governance: Serve as the primary administrator and governance lead for strategic SharePoint environments, optimizing site architecture for knowledge retention, ease of access, and training library organization.
- Video Hub Administration: Manage and optimize enterprise video sharing platforms and digital asset management systems, ensuring all educational materials are compliant, accessible, organized, and secure.
- Information Lifecycle Management: Establish and enforce standards for content delivery platforms to mitigate operational, compliance, and knowledge-retention risks.
4. Video Production, Training & Educational Content
- Video Production Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end planning, production, scripting, and deployment of instructional videos, product demonstrations, and strategic change-management visual content.
- Technical Translation & Education: Partner with engineers, architects, and product owners to translate complex technical architectures, operational processes, and legacy modernization steps into easily digestible, highly engaging digital learning modules.
- Knowledge Sharing Strategy: Design and scale creative multimedia frameworks that facilitate continuous learning, rapid onboarding, and consistent knowledge transfer across technical and non-technical business units.
- Instructional Media Design: Utilize modern video production platforms and digital media tools to produce high-quality training assets that increase organizational readiness for new technology rollouts.
5. AI Enablement & Productivity Innovation
- GenAI Tool Integration: Actively leverage and champion AI-assisted tools (such as Microsoft 365 Copilot for document synthesis and program tracking, and GitHub Copilot for code/technical assessment comprehension) to optimize day-to-day administrative, video planning, and editing workflows.
- Team Upskilling: Act as an advocate for AI adoption within project teams, helping automate repetitive reporting, draft technical specifications, and streamline knowledge sharing.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Level: 7+ years of progressive experience in technical program management, instructional design, corporate communications, or digital media production roles within a large-scale, matrixed enterprise.
· Transportation & Logistics Domain Expertise: Strong working knowledge of transportation network operations, freight systems, supply chain logistics, routing algorithms, or airline D&T infrastructure (highly preferred).
- Media & Video Production Expertise: Proven track record in professional video editing, script writing, motion graphics, or digital media production designed specifically for training, education, or corporate communication purposes.
- Technical Translation Skills: Demonstrated ability to comprehend highly complex IT operations, databases, cloud software developments, or logistics systems and teach them to others using visual/digital media.
- Executive Presence: Proven track record of directly supporting, advising, and drafting communication/media strategies for senior executives (VPs, SVPs, and CXOs).
- Platform Administration: Deep experience with SharePoint site design, video-hosting architectures, digital assets libraries, and general knowledge-management tools.
- AI Tool Fluency: Practical hands-on experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI-assisted video/audio editing software) to accelerate content creation and project delivery.
- Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and lead cross-functional teams in an agile environment without direct organizational authority.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, communications or related field.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years professional work experience. At least two (2) years experience in facilitation of large programs or multi- function projects in a practical business setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with the transportation/logistics industry and expertise in multi- functional project/program leadership experience desired.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communications skills required.
Domicile Information:
This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.

If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
