Location: Green Bay, WI
Position Summary
The Sales Specialist is an entry level sales role that is responsible for selling transportation brokerage services by generating new opportunities and developing relationships with new and potential customers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to identifying prospects, cold calling, cultivating relationships, servicing all customer needs, initiating and monitoring the completion of all customer contracts, requests for proposals and bids. The position will also be responsible for interacting and collaborating across other areas (finance, operations, legal, etc.) to ensure operational success for the customer/ to communicate all necessary information to ensure operations have the necessary information to execute.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, obtain and develop relationships with prospective clients through various communication channels or other lead generating opportunities
- Develop and execute sales strategy and customer engagement strategy
- Manage account relationships with new customers as the primary point-of-contact for day-to-day needs, including ongoing communications, pricing, consultative services pertaining to the industry and supply chain options and coordination of customer's needs, billing, collections, and other activities
- Identify services and pricing that meet customer needs
- Track and maintain all sales activities in CRM and manage rate and lane negotiations
- Facilitating the administrative process related to the approval and completion of contracts, requests for proposals and bids in collaboration with the other cross-functional areas and leadership
- Responsible for partnering with team members to ensure the correct and timely payment of invoices
- Contact customers to obtain the necessary information to resolve discrepancies and work with customers when necessary to expedite payment
- Identify and escalate unresolved customer issues, continuous improvement, and new service opportunities to leadership
- Engage and consult with other FedEx business units to ensure proper execution
- Adhere to all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED and 2 years of industry sales experience preferred
- Active listening, persuasion and clear communication skills are essential
- Familiarity with CRM software and MS Office preferred
- Ability to handle high volume activity, such as cold calling, prospecting, and follow up
- Strong organization skills
- High motivation and ability to handle rejection to consistently meet sales goals
- Travel: Quarterly, up to 2 times per quarter
