Senior Sales Specialist

Location: Green Bay, WI
The Sales Specialist is a senior level sales role that is responsible for driving revenue by acquiring new business and managing client relationships, focusing on selling shipping, logistics and transportation brokerage services. Responsibilities include cold calling, developing sales strategies, negotiating, utilizing CRM tools, and collaborating with internal teams for operational success. The position will also be responsible for interacting and collaborating across other areas (finance, operations, legal, etc.) to ensure operational success for the customer/ to communicate all necessary information to ensure operations have the necessary information to execute.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual business plans, sales forecasts, and strategies to reach quotas
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with top-tier clients, providing high-level support and solutions.
- Identify new markets, prospects, and sales opportunities while conducting competitor analysis
- Guide, train, and support junior sales representatives, helping to improve team performance.
- Lead contract negotiations and closing deals with key stakeholders.
- Monitor sales metrics and prepare performance reports to guide decision-making.
- Identify prospects, conduct cold calls, and develop new relationships, while expanding service usage within assigned existing accounts
- Maintain high-level service to secure customer loyalty.
- Initiate and manage the administrative process for contracts, bids, and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Work with internal, cross-functional teams (finance, operations, legal) to ensure successful service execution
- Engage and consult with other FedEx business units to ensure proper execution
- Utilize CRM tools to document sales activities, manage, and report on performance.
- Adhere to all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and 2 years of relevant experience in sales
- OR In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 5 years of relevant experience in sales with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills
- Strong understanding of industry trends, market analysis, and CRM software.
- Ability to handle high volume activity, such as cold calling, prospecting, and follow up
- Works well independently and has advanced time management and organization skills
- Strong organization skills
- High motivation and ability to handle rejection to consistently meet sales goals
- Travel: Quarterly, up to 4 times per quarter
