POSITION OVERVIEW:
Maintain environmental compliance with corporate policy and other regulatory agencies. Proactively work to reduce the company’s exposure to liability. Support programs and projects to ensure work meets specifications and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain storm water compliance program including initial permitting support and permit upkeep, storm water pollution prevention plans, inspection records, sampling coordination and site monitoring documentation
2. Maintain underground storage tank compliance program including scheduling required inspections, tracking findings and taking corrective measures to address issues identified by inspections
3. Maintain all existing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC) and support preparation and implementation of SPCC Plans for new locations
4. Review, interpret and advise business, including Read Estate and Facilities, of environmental concerns and recommend actions to minimize liability exposure
5. In coordination with legal and regulatory counsel, interface with regulatory agencies to address environmental compliance issues through phone discussions, written correspondence and support for site visits
6. Support environmental investigations, due diligence and remediation projects including retaining and working with qualified consulting firms and tracking deliverable through completion
7. Maintain Environmental files, keep current all permits, registrations, plans and compliance records related to storm water and fuel storage systems
8. Process and file invoices relating to environmental programs, permits and projects
9. Support field operations by providing program guidance, training support, inspection readiness assistance and issue response coordination, as needed
10. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
11. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences, compliance, engineering or relevant degrees plus two (2) years environmental regulatory compliance experience
• Knowledge of regulatory framework as it relates to key programs including the Clean Water Act, SPCC, UST/AST, Tier II, environmental due diligence and remediations support
• Familiarity with procedures and methods for assessment of soil and groundwater contamination and remediation project workflows
• Self-directed and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and interpret regulations, permits, plans and technical reports
• Project management skills required to work with vendors, contractors, consultants and employees
• Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to, Word, Excel Outlook, plus web-based compliance systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Frequent travel required
While this position is eligible to work remotely if the successful candidate is located outside the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental U.S.
If the successful candidate is located in the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate will be required to work a hybrid schedule, working three days per week in the office.

If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the pay information represents the minimum and maximum range for all levels. Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. Pay Range: $66,803.00 - $126,660.00 per year
Colorado Pay Ranges: Colorado Springs, Grand Junction $71,480 - $112,939; Henderson, Mead $75,488 - $119,271; Gypsum $80,165 - $126,660
Illinois Pay Ranges: Effingham, Kankakee, Lincoln, Quincy, Rockford, Aurora $71,480 - $112,939; Bolingbrook, Chicago Heights, Des Plaines, Elmhurst, Forest View, Joliet, Schaumburg, Summit-Argo, Zion $80,165 - $126,660
New York Pay Ranges: Plattsburgh, Buffalo, Watertown, North Chili, East Syracuse, Nichols $71,480 - $112,939; Bethpage, Montgomery, West Babylon $80,165 - $126,660

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full/part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.
