Sr Analyst-EDI
Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
To provide advanced, hands-on support for the design, testing and implementation of transportation related Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Owns complex partner setups and production support, drives root-cause analysis and process improvement, and serves as a subject matter resource for junior analysts and cross-functional partners.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide advanced technical and functional support to internal and external customers to ensure the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of EDI processes.
2. Partner directly with sales and customers to gather EDI requirements, validate capabilities, set onboarding expectations, and resolve issues during implementation.
3. Manage and monitor end-to-end transmission, mapping, and integration workflows across multiple platforms and applications.
4. Lead the setup, testing, and maintenance of EDI connections with trading partners, including requirements gathering, mapping changes, and coordination with IT and external vendors.
5. Configure and validate EDI mappings, code, values, cross references, and business rules within integration tools according to established standards.
6. Develop and maintain documentation of EDI processes, partner requirements, mapping logic, and exception handling procedures.
7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement process improvement and cost savings opportunities.
8. Mentor and coach junior analysts, providing guidance on troubleshooting approaches, documentation standards, and EDI best practices.
9. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education
- Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent in business, computer science, or other directly related quantitative discipline
Minimum experience
- Three (3) years related experience in supporting and/or responsible for EDI applications to include direct customer interaction and problem resolution required.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities essential to perform job
- Strong understanding of industry-standard data exchange formats and protocols (e.g., ANSI X12), with expertise in managing transactional data workflows including remittance/payment transactions
- Experience managing EDI partner integrations, including onboarding, testing, and ongoing support for data exchange processes.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and to work directly with customers and third parties.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical mapping and configuration changes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage ambiguity and lead initiatives independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of integration tools and middleware
